I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to shape the transients of an audio track in close to real time (or with a few ms delay).
I would like to be able to play a drum loop an external synth, have it go through a track in ableton, and be able to shape the transients of the track while it plays back.
Basically to be able to change (in most cases, shorten) the decay of drum hits in an audio track.
Maybe I could somehow use an envelope follower routed to some sort of filter/volume control/gate for this?
Would really appreciate any suggestions.
Transient shaping for live audio?
Re: Transient shaping for live audio?
Ohh I've realised I can probably just use the Gate Audio Effect for this! And map various parameters to a midi controller to achieve what I'm looking for.
