Modwheel only works on midi channel 1?

Hi everyone,

I noticed a strange behaviour. Ableton Live receives the pitch and modwheel informations from all my synths / controllers, but when the devices don't send them on midi channel 1, they are not forwarded to the armed track.

Is that really how Ableton has currently implemented it? This is really sad because it means I can't play multiple synths at once with modwheel as I have to configure all of them to send on channel 1 such that all of them trigger each other.

Notice that all messages come into ableton through the same ports from my audio interface with a merge / through boxes attached to the audio interface ports

Are you sure it’s not an MPE issue? I guess a few things could be guessed and tested before determining that it does have that particular behavior.
