It’s been an ongoing debate among us early testers, sorry inside joke.
Has it?
Interesting that they've ended up putting those selectors on the top bar, as if it was supposed to be global. Instead, it's just confusing
Well hopefully that's just a start & eventually we'll see a proper, global "conductor" track that other tracks will be able to follow in different ways.

My opinion as well. This was my first thought when I saw these selectors in the "Global area". I was super excited, then disappointed. The place where they put this "current scale setter" is indeed misleading.
A global scale with all the scale awareness things would be incredibly fun and powerful.
But to be honest, in the end, or at least for now, I find the way live now deals with scales not bad at all.

Agreed.
I'm so tempted to install the beta (got in earlier this week), but I'm swamped at work, at home AND - whenever I've a spare moment - I'm having lots of fun with Push 3 Standalone which I received over the weekend!
Gotta fight the temptation (it would help if I could give my beta slot away to someone)

Well, perhaps they thought people might sometimes use multiple scales in a given project, for sure I do, and have it all work rather sort of like the Groove system where one can use multiple «global» scales at the same time? In that case I understand the choice.
Still waiting for the beta here so please forgive my cluelessness. Christmas holiday approaching with many days of free time.

Yes indeed. A "Global Scale" should be :
- automatable in the Main track
- settable as scene property
- reachable via M4L
