advanced routing for live performances and cpu

Post by potatomon » Wed Dec 27, 2023 5:09 pm

hi everyone! I'm setting up a live set that is a huge hybrid between a DJ set and a full playable performance, so i'm trying to figure out a bunch of things. the main thing is the routing inside the set:

i want to play with the stems of the tracks, not with the masters, and I want to be able to make smooth transitions like djs do, so i'm setting up two groups, A and B, each group have a certain quantity of tracks, (for example it could be: KICK, SNARE, HATS etc or maybe more simply KICK, PERCS, and others, i will figure it out later). the A\B tracks will go then to another group that is the main, same format of the A\B banks, to apply some master fx before they go to the actual master track. so my question is:

if i don't want to format my stems to match how i categorize A and B, but i just want to send them in the correct track in the A\B banks, would it affect my CPU? how much? my routing would be something like: song --> A\B bank --> master FX --> master
