Standalone with NI Maschine+
Standalone with NI Maschine+
Hello guys,
does anyone tries to setup a Push Standalone with the Maschine+?
I am not sure if its work with link. After a few tries i was able to trigger some sounds or instruments.
But i can’t start the M+. I have to start it manually.
Does anyone have experience with it?
Is the link function only working with a computer in this case or can the PUSH see the M+ ?

Re: Standalone with NI Maschine+
Maschine+ has Ableton Link integrated
settings -> MIDI -> enable Link
settings -> MIDI -> enable Link
Re: Standalone with NI Maschine+
Thank you for your reply. I’ve tried it successfully but I can’t start any clip in Maschine.
This is the reason why I asked if link works only with a device like an iPad or computer.

Re: Standalone with NI Maschine+
I've confirmed:
- Push sends pos/start/stop/clock over MIDI and link.
- Maschine+ can receive note data from Push.
- Maschine+ will sync to Link or MIDI.
- Maschine+ does not support Link start/stop.
However, I can not get Maschine+ to act on pos/start/stop over MIDI.
There is no mention of external transport control in the M+ manual, and only anecdotal online evidence that it works.
A theoretical workaround would be to convert external midi transport to an analog relay and use a pedal input on the M+ to trigger start/stop.
Suite, Push 1, Push 2, Push Standalone

Yes you’re right. I see it exactly the same way.zenkick wrote: ↑Sat Dec 30, 2023 2:10 pmI've confirmed:

i'll write to support. i don't think there's a problem with the push controller
Re: Standalone with NI Maschine+
If the idea is to have both starting at the same time, why not start the Push from the Maschine, rather than starting the Maschine from the Push?
Re: Standalone with NI Maschine+
I will try it now that way. Maybe Maschine must be the master in this case.
Re: Standalone with NI Maschine+
On second thoughts, I suppose if M+ doesn't have a new enough implementation of Link, it's not going to work in either direction.

Yes I saw this yesterday. Now i use a MIDI connection.kreativsein wrote: ↑Sun Dec 31, 2023 10:08 amhere we go

In my case the MIDI Clock works fine. It jumps a little bit but when i start drums on both devices they are synced. It is acceptable.
Maybe they work on a solution for this. But the MIDI connection is definitely useful.

Re: Standalone with NI Maschine+
Out of interest how are you routing the audio?
I’ve got a gen1 babyface on my M+ (drums and bass) outputing adat, and x4 analogue outputs from the push (melody, stabs, samples) that all go into a umc1820 and then I mix it all on an iPad in Drambo (planning to a get an interface with two adat inputs, so I can use an all digital path from the push)

I don’t have an adat interface at the moment.JollyDodger wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2024 4:06 pmOut of interest how are you routing the audio?

The audio output from the M+ goes in the P3.
