Can a M4L MIDI device create tempo exceptions for a single MIDI Instrument?

Hello!

Is it possible to use an M4L MIDI device to allow a single MIDI instrument to "ignore" the global Live Set tempo and follow a tempo of its own?

I just don't know whether or not the set's global tempo is always completely in command, or if it can be somehow circumvented in discreet cases.

I've searched maxforlive.com and haven't found a device that does precisely that.

If the MIDI Instrument itself is a MaxforLive device then yes....

Otherwise no...

In anticipation of that trek up Mt. Learning Curve, one further question if I may:

Would the tempo exception utility need to be an integrated component of the M4L instrument, or could a "standalone alt-tempo sidecar" be placed in line or in a rack ahead of the instrument?

It would have to be inside the M4L sequencer itself.
If you find a sequencer that suits your needs, I’d happily take a look and give a hand to modify it. It « should » be relatively easy.
