Re-enable Automation Highlight

Just a function whereby you can see where this arrangement view override is occuring.
I just opened a crashed project with over a hundred tracks and this button is now permanently highlighted.
I tried deleting all keyboard and midi maps, then clicking it but it's just permanently on now.
I'm worried I'll miss the effect of it in this 15 minute, 100+ track project.

Sure that would be handy.
Regarding your issue, this generally comes from a M4L device or a 3rd party plugin (often from NI, but can be others too).
