Bar time metering in sampler for tail control automation

Post by baseinstinct » Sun Feb 04, 2024 12:43 pm

This will make you able to use samples with an onset, a loop and a tail very conveniently.

Imagine recording a techno ride loop of 3 bars, wheere rides start playing in bar 1, loop in bar 2 and have a tail in bar 3.
if you want to use it as a clip, you will always have to be mindful of adding the tail in playback and arrangement.

Sampler has it all with the tail playing simply when the midi note is released. Still, time measurement is in samples or seconds, so a simplest case where you want loops to be n-bars long, you need to calculate the number of samples. Or is something else still missing from sampler functionality?

This would prioritise preset length over snapping to zero-crossing.

As a result, after a brief setup, would control of rides in such with a single midi note rather than juggle audio clips clips. Or is there a better method?
