Well then you're just going to have to be patient then aren't you?
You suggest doing a support request while not knowing that such requests require a log-file?

A support request is not possible without adding log-files, as I replied earlier in this thread.
This has not been my experience.

Have you tried to not include one and agree to the terms and submit your request?

Good luck.

Yes, I did try. But without log files you can not submit the support request.

@jur Still no reply from the developers?

I'm trying to work out the maximum capacity for audio files on the Push 3 in standalone mode.
I'm presuming it's either limited by the 8GB of RAM or the 256GB SSD (if it streams direct from it), but can't find any info online...

I know about the max single audio file size of 2GB in Live, which I presume will be the same on the P3, but does anyone know what the overall audio file capacity is for standalone?

Just a thought, but have you tried this on a regular computer/laptop installation of Live?
It seems to me the core program is going to function the same way.

BTW if your Push has the 250gb SSD you won't have all of that to work with, just size the 'data' partition. Your remaining storage will be indicated on the push.

Nope... but I just forgot about it, sorry. Thx for the reminder!
No problem, hope to hear from you soon!
@jur One week later.......still no replay from the developers? Looks to me this is very easy to answer , just yes or no.
Why do you assume the answer is simple? It might vary for any number of reasons. The playback engine could be context driven. The answer might reveal proprietary Ableton techniques which they don’t want to share publicly.

As for the log file and support requests, just upload any old log file and explain in the message it’s irrelevant but you couldn’t submit a request without including something.

Do you know the anwer, and/or are you working for Ableton development?

I just want to know, just curious about how loading a sample in a audio track and how it is handled by the system. Is the sample loaded into RAM or is the sample being streamed from disk. Example : I know the Akai Force plays all the samples straight from disk and leave the RAM free for other things, but the MPC loads a sample in memory(RAM). Looks like a simple question and answer to me.

Maybe somebody from Ableton development can answer this.

@jur has forwarded my question to support, but still haven't heard back.

Ok, I just got an answer, and that is what we supposed earlier:
it works like Live does on Desktop. Files are streamed directly from the drive, unless you enable the “RAM” button.
Standalone doesn’t have access to this button, but you can enable it on clips on your desktop, then transfer the set over to Push standalone, and they will load from RAM.

Thanks, Jur. Appreciate it!

So the conclusion is : if I load a long sample (stored on my push 3 Standalone)in a Audio track it will not be loaded in RAM but directly streamed from disk. Is that correct?

I have created several M4L devices that allow access to the internal sample structure of the P3 SA and change every sound instantly, and another that allows recording and playing files from each track where the device is inserted to do live multitrack recordings straight into the P3 SA disk.

Depending on how the M4L device is programmed the samples are played from disk or loaded into a memory buffer, so both options are possible. It depends whether you use a buffer and a groove object or an sfplay object.

Thanks for the clarification! So the answer is.....it depends :)

I bought Push 3 recorder/player, it's really great.
