will push 3 update automatically if un registered?

i recently purchased a used push3. I sawits update when demoed during the sale. Will the push 3 update automatically while unregistered ? This is not a standalone version.

If attached to a live 11 suite copy?

For the controller version, this is managed by Live, so no problem.
