Request: $50 to the first person who gets it right.

Post by CryptoJimBo » Tue Feb 27, 2024 11:40 pm

Hello,

I am giving away $50 to the first person who can successfully create a M4L device that globally changes the base, transpose, and mode of Ableton's Scale device on separate midi tracks. I have PDFs with detailed requirements; but basically, the device has to have three drop-down menus, one for base; one for transpose; and one for mode; and all of the menu options must be selectable by dummy clips. There are 33 modes to be included. I have programmed them as presets in the Scale device, which I can send you if you chose to take this challenge. All other info is provided in the link https://1drv.ms/f/s!AirahSKQ9VQK5FYzoRA ... D?e=4pIomt

Good Luck!

I'll be honest.
If you hadn't talk about money the way you did, I would probably have done it.
But the way you present it is disrespectful. M4L coders (like myself) are artists, and, for most of them, are not doing it for the money. Should they do it for the money, they would not compete against the others for a fee of $50.

Hahahahahah, $50.00

Honestly not even worth reading the document for that...

Spend your £50.00 on this instead...

Should be a simple $50 for an experienced M4L developer and a fun exercise to test one's ability, but I guess people like you would rather ruin the fun. Nice program, btw. Already knew about it.

Developer rates wouldn't cover an hour for someone that's experienced enough to begin to write that device.

Most M4L devices are less than $50 and are way more complex. It doesn't make sense to me for a developer to spend months developing a device and sell it for less than $50, but won't take an hour to help someone for the same amount. If I was rich I'd offer more money. I'm lucky to have $100 left over after bills every month. Plus, in the time it takes to post negative comments, that time could have been spent doing something fun, helping other people, and making an easy $50.

Hopefully you'll find someone willing to make what you want for that amount then.

I took about 30 minutes today and programmed all of the Mode presets for the Scale device. I didn't save them with transposition variations, though. I figure there is a better and easier way to select the amount of transposition than having a preset for each.

MGF Audio has won this contest!!! He even programmed it and released it for Free! So a big thank you to MGF Audio for a great and selfless contribution to society. You will receive the $50 as soon as we are able to change the root note and octave when triggering the chord/scale. Also, a big F to all of U who are too uppity and lazy to help the community for $50.

Once we are able to change the root note and octave and make it global, Ableton really needs to buy the rights to this device and replace Scale Awareness and some of the MIDI Tools with it because this device is doing it the way it should have been done.

Check it out. It's Free!

That's how you answer to people taking the time to answer you and point out some realities about the time it takes to program?
Please have look at the forum's community guidelines.
You earned a big warn.
