I'm begging you to bring back the device view shortcut! (Option+Command+L)

I use BetterTouchTool (Mac) to setup/map some of the old keyboard shortcuts to the new one…
Gear: MBP M1 Max • iMac 27" • Quartet • SSL UF1/UC1/UF8 • Push2 • Virus TI • NI • Arturia / Korg / Roland / SD3 / Omnisphere / Trillian / RMX • Waves / Slate / SSL Plugins • Ableton 12 • Fender Jazz Bass/Strat/Tele • Gibson Les Paul • Kemper profiler

Hi, new to the forum – but an advanced Live user. I came here exactly for this problem, I really need the [CMD][ALT][L] shortcut as well. It's essential to my workflow and the way I use Live. Strangely, it is listed in the kb shortcut list for Live 12. And all the other "showing and hiding views" shortcuts seem to work fine, even some great new ones like for instance [CMD][ALT][M] for hiding/viewing the mixer in the new detail view. I don't think the detail view shortcut is missing by design, it feels like a bug.

There was quite a discussion about it in the beta.
For the moment you can always try the new opt-cmd-3 and opt-cmd-4 which let you toggle the clip and device views independently.

I did't use the beta, I missed that discussion. The developers didn't want to use the [CMD][ALT][L] shortcut anymore? Thanks for these new shortcuts though, they can be a workaround for now indeed.

Correct, this was an intentional change unfortunately.

Wow ok. I'm gonna try not to beat a dead horse then – bye to years of muscle memory. I can see how having two different shortcuts for hiding/viewing the clip view and the device view fits in the new Live 12 vision. It just feels like they could co-exist.

I'm with fabidjano: would be nice if we could have both if Cmd-Opt-L isn't now used for something else too.

Maybe I'll just get used to it, but I've been Cmd-Opt-L-ing for a long time! Also when I've not been doing any production for a while and instant muscle memory is gone it's still pretty easy to remember L = lower bit (same as B=browser, O=overview, M=mixer, I = inputs).

While we are on this topic, I would add my wish to be able to toggle the browser's new FILTER view in similar fashion ( Cmd-Opt-F )

...but that's just me,

I think I get it. Don't love it, maybe (yet)... but I get it because it's no longer a simple, 1-panel open / close and this controls the two panels independently. Another "little thing" to memorize!
