Re: Ableton Live 12 Release
Wow it's really well done
No crashes on imac
Running 2tb SSD
32gb ram
3.4ghz
Spent two hours on meld
Granular 3
Roar
All good stuff.
Great menus so navigation cool.
Was it worth the upgrade.
I was a bit dubious but yes Ableton 12 is a winner.
I use a lot of plug ins but I will use this stock gear more.
I particularly liked granular 3
Its got some wicked gadgets on that baby.
The downside is not enough variation on the look.
The colours are vile seriously.
I've gone for a darker mode.
You can't have everything

Re: Ableton Live 12 Release
Staying totally within Ableton would simplify transferring and sharing files, and make it less likely to crash or have other problems. With the new synths and effects over the years, it's almost possible to stay entirely within Ableton. Now I just add a nicer Reverb VST and Hive since I bought it (regret it but don't want to "waste" it). If Ableton had a nice Reverb for mixing and mastering, I could stay 100% within Ableton. Makes life simpler."I use a lot of plug ins but I will use this stock gear more."

Nothing to regret about Hive, easy one of the top ten best synths out there.Martin Gifford wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 8:26 pmStaying totally within Ableton would simplify transferring and sharing files, and make it less likely to crash or have other problems. Re: Ableton Live 12 Release
OMG it's taken so long to install all the pack updates.
The downloads can all be clicked on and queued, but the installs can't - so you have to sit there and wait for each pack to install (which freezes you out of the program), then click the button for the next one and wait again.
Started yesterday, just finishing up now.

Re: Ableton Live 12 Release
Some 3rd party Max4Live devices wont work.
If you value them keep Live 11 installed.

Re: Ableton Live 12 Release
I know it's an almost impossible task.
A list of incompatible devices would be highly desirable so that you don't have to install L12 only to discover that some M4L devices that you care about or even need no longer work.
