ableton ignores folder in VST3

Post by ham3id » Thu Mar 07, 2024 7:44 pm

Hi,

i just installed a new system with ableton 12 but I cant organize my plugins. I have a lot of VSTS and would like to organize them by company so I made some folders Fabfilter, soundtoys etc. and put all their Vsts in there but ableton ignores the folder and lists all the vsts under plugin.

Is there a workaround?

thanks!!

I think the filter is ‘like’ a folder. It even has by developer ( probably based on the folder it is in )

VST3 specification has a pre-defined standard folder (on Windows Programs\Common Files\VST3). So all VST3s should be installed there by default.

Sorting by Company, FX Type etc. is done depending of the DAW. Like mentioned above, Live (like many other DAWs) has filtering by company build-in.
