GM midi mapped drums

I liked having the Yamaha Motif because every drum kit was GM midi mapped throughout my keyboard (great for live transposition/production/etc.) .... where can I find drum VSTs / kits I can load into drum rack that are top quality / come already mapped? A sperate question - do Drum Machines and Session Drums Come like this? Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Drum Machines and Session Drums are "loosely" GM mapped. In many cases, these libraries contain sounds that don't match one-to-one with the GM spec. But wherever possible, the GM drum mappings are used.

Look under the midi utility folder in Live and there is a tool called GM drum map. Put that before your session drums and it makes it all pretty close to GM.

I know this is an old thread but it's what came up when I was looking for how to map midi drums in Ableton Live. Has the GM drum map been discontinued? I don't see it in Ableton Live 9. TIA, Pat2E
