Keyboard-Shortcut to launch and record in *Session* view?

Post by Larryo » Fri Apr 03, 2020 5:13 pm

Hello there,

does anyone know if there is a shortcut to launch and record a clip in session view with a QWERT-Keyboard? So far i only know F9 (recording in arrangement view) and F1-F8 (mute/unmute) Tracks.

I find it annoying to always use the mouse to record the clip. Also I don't want to get an extra midi controller for this as my desk is already full of equipment. I have a LPD8 which unfortunately is of know use for that matter i'm afraid.

Thanks for your help!

There is no special shortcut for that button.

You can use Ctrl(CMD)+K Key Map Mode to assign any key you want to.

For myself, I’ve key mapped the Session Record button to my / key. Makes if real convenient. I also like using the brackets to go up and down scenes, with the key next to those used to launch a scene.

Also, in Preferences, there is a option in "File Folder" for saving the current Set as default, which can be used to save a Set with custom key mapping.

Sorry but I still don't understand why in 2024 we still don't have global keyboard and MIDI mappings. When I open old projects toolbar button mappings I created later don't work. This is kinda frustrating.
