Session record problem

I cant get session record to work properly. I set a quantization, arm a track, press session record, then press record on the clip and...nothing.

For some reason it works if I am playing a scene where the stop button has been removed from the armed track, recording onto another scene.

Why is this?

Which Live version?
Are you using any midi controller?
Any remote script, things like ClyphX or similar tools?

Hi thanks for responding. Im using Live 11 with a novation LaunchControl XL, and no script just plugins. I'm not even using the controller much yet, I'm just getting started with live.

Whats really strange is it records onto another scene if I remove the stop button for the armed track, which makes me think I've got some preference wrong that I dont understand.

I am trying to resample in session view. I cant get the clip record and the scene to start at the same time, How do I record and then play a scene to resample the set as I have it so far? I have it set to resample in I/O
