So, what does that mean ? (Genuine question !)[jur] wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2024 12:55 amThat's not what I stated. I just said that the topic is on the radar. The Rabbits wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2024 12:17 amI take it the pdf one will be available soon as you stated previously. Correct?
Does it mean that you are aware that you dont have a pdf manual ? (Which I guess is true !) Or does it mean that you wont be having a pdf manual or does it mean that you will be having a pdf manual ? (Sorry for not understanding what you are saying !)

On the radar = it's been spotted. They're aware of it. What they will do in response is unknown at this time.

Nor do I, and I've been using Live since version 1.Machinesworking wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2024 5:24 pmI seriously do not recall the manual being so far behind release as this one is?
Re: Live 12 reference manual DISCONTINUED BOOOOOO
and how should i access this, when im offline?RetroFan2001 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 24, 2024 1:20 pmI mean, that all 'New Features' and 'Feature Improvements' are decribed here.i cant find what you mean on this page.
BUT: I really prefere a real manual (PDF, HTML) related to all features of the current version and you don't have to look for all the information in different places
ofc everything is written down there, its a damn online manual.

If this news is true, then it truly is an unconscionable decision on Ableton's part, and I condemn them roundly for it.
We all know about the glacial response times from their tech support folks, but because they really do assist so many of us I've accepted the wait time (up to a point -- I've asked a rather straightforward, if somewhat obscure, question 2 weeks ago and am still waiting for an answer).
But if that is to be the case, then a PDF version of the manual represents the most significant option we have for self-help. And if they're going to cease releasing that then Ableton would be well advised to staff up the TS department. Big time.
I do not enjoy being annoyed at Ableton, as I find the community to be inclusive and understanding for many different skill and experience levels.
And I had too been told that a PDF of the manual was indeed coming, but IF -- big if -- what you say is true and we are not to expect one, then I'm highly aggravated by such a brashly irresponsible policy.

Thanks for googling it for me! I have heard the saying before! The question is what does it mean in this context? It’s utterly meaningless here - we all know that they know they dont have a pdf manual!102455 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2024 10:06 amOn the radar = it's been spotted. They're aware of it. It was said in realtion to people complaining about the manual not being available as a pdf. I guessed that they were aware that they didnt have a pdf manual as that is what they have said therefore the fact that it is “on the radar” is a non-useful statement imparting zero information. We know they are aware they dont have a pdf manual. So what do they mean by saying it is on the radar? Is it just pure meaningless information-free words? Is it a poor attempt at an emollient? Is it an attempt at obfuscation? Is the person who posted it incapable of saying yes or no to a pdf manual?

Ableton is indeed aware of this, knows that it's a problem for users and is working on it.
Sorry I can't provide more info about atm.

I completely agree. I use the manual frequently.
Ableton has goofed up so many things with the roll-out of Live 12. I hope they can redeem what goodwill has been damaged for long-time users.

I have my own issues with Ableton like we all do, but I only think the PDF manual is a bit of a let down. It's the type of move 1 or 3 man companies do really. 12 is overall a really nice upgrade.LaotzeSunHammer wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2024 5:08 pmI completely agree. I use the manual frequently.

I want a manual that's not in a browser. Searchable. bookmarks. printable.
Deciding not to offer that is something that a professional, serious developer that respects its users would never do.

This is the dumbest decision Ableton has made, in my opinion.
