Ableton Questions for running backing tracks

Hello-

I want to run Ableton Live for basic backing tracks for a cover band. I will need more than the 16 scenes “Intro” offers, so I will need to go for the full version.

Since I will only be using Ableton for the purpose of backing tracks and not recording, I do, It prefer not to install the 30+ gigs of sounds.

2 questions -
Can I install the full version of Ableton Live without installing all of the sounds?

Or

Is there a way to get more scenes from Ableton Live Intro?

16 scenes in Live Intro... hard for playback in sessions view.

If you go arrangement view, 16 tracks is a lot for playback, you really put more than 16 stems per song ?

For sure I prefer session view for playback, but most people I know use arrangement view.

I would like to run my tracks (8 mono tracks) in session view and each song will be a scene on the right hand side, Master Column.
I will need more that 16 songs/senes.

I will probably go for the full version of Ableton and that will be my solution.
