Scale/Pitch to lock into one pitch?

Post by rockman413 » Thu Aug 29, 2024 4:56 pm

Hi there,
I know to click all the grids in Scale so no matter which key I play, it's C i want. But if I play in another octave, it's another octave, is there a way to put no matter what key I play into the C-3?

So sampler will play the original sound.
Thanks!

Try the 'Pitch' MIDI device instead. Set it to Mode=Fold, Range=0 st, and Lowest to whatever note you want. See if that works :)

Thanks! I tried the Pitch (midi effect), it doesn't have a Fold (using Live 11, are you seeing it in Live 12?).
I can see using Scale it has a fold, but enable it doesn't get to what I wanted.

Ah, that's too bad. Yes, I'm using 12. I don't know if there's an out-of-the-box solution in 11.

Use two pitch. One set to highest, other set to lowest

It's not immediately obvious to me how this would work, so I'll be interested to see if the OP has any success with it.

Also, for what it's worth, in Live 12 you can use the 'Limit' mode (it doesn't have to be 'Fold').

I think it has to do with sweeping all possible notes to the maximum value, and then bringing that value lower.
