Recording live instruments?

Post by iainduncan » Tue Dec 12, 2023 4:41 pm

Is there a decent way to use Note to record ideas from a live instrument? I'd love to be able to use it to record bass lines played (with an electric bass) over the metronome and then be able to import those into desktop where I rerecord. I'm curious if anyone is doing this and how they are managing as I think the only option is making a sample?

And if ableton product is listening, more live recording features would be nice!

Yep, you can only work around this by sampling into a Sampler or a Drum Rack cell.

Thanks. Is there a way to trim the samples to cut off count in and such like?

Yes, you can set the start/end markers.

Can we use Note as an effect for external audio this would make it the ultimate guitar pedal without having to sample

Sticking with the phone idea, i also use my zoom i7 mic to record all sorts of things, and then import them into Note.
