Can we have Audio Capture on the Push 3 / Live. 12

Ever since I heard of the limited 40-second 'skip back' on the SP404, I have wondered if there was a device that was always on, always listening, always waiting for those moments of inspiration that occur before you ever think to press record.

Imagine the Push 3 with this other function—audio capture.

We have midi capture, which everyone understands so why not audio capture?
What would it take to have the last 30 or more minutes of audio capture. This could be based on time, or an audio threshold.
You could select the last threshold segment, or the last 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 minutes of audio, by pressing a corresponding button.

You could create an audio track and assign it to this function, or like midi, it could happen in the background without an audio track present.
Then you'd create the audio track and press Shift Capture to grab that audio.

This could then become a saved reference track, translated into midi to become the basis for a whole new idea.
IMO It would change the way we make music, leading to greater spontaneity. Forget record, Just jam.

You could limit this function to when the device is plugged in.

It's only a matter of time before someone else creates a dedicated device with this feature, so why not get there first?

There are of course software that offers this functionality. Rewinder by MonkeyC and Bird's Rolling Sampler.
Having this on the Push would set it apart as a device appropriate for all musicians.
It would become your 21st-century 'reel to reel', perhaps with that graphic. Always on, always recording.

Please Ableton, make this happen.

Does no one else want this feature?
