After entering ONE midi CC message, when replaying the data in my midi monitor I always see 2 CC messages with the same value.
E.g. I entered a midi cc message nr 51 with a value 109. I see only one small circle in the Envelopes window in Live. On my midi monitor I then see:
timestamp
00:44.820 ch1 CC 51 109
00:45.369 ch1 CC 51 109
I'm using Live 12.x (the latest version).
Why is there a 'double' and how do I prevent this from happening?
live outputs a cc message twice

Re: live outputs a cc message twice
I've discovered that whenever I put a CC message at the start of a clip, it will be played once. If I put it a bit later in the clip, it will be played twice. So I now know how to get rid of the doubles, but this leaves me to wonder whether there is a functional element to the doubling or whether this is a bug of sorts. I'm running Live 12.1.1

Resolution:
My experiments have lead me to the conclusion that Ableton will play a single CC only once IF AND ONLY IF it is at the start of a clip.
Otherwise when playing from the start of a clip it does a sort of 'pre-fetch' and plays the CC also at the start of the clip. My remedy for producing single CC messages (I'm trying to start and stop a hardware sequencer I'm building) is by drawing CC's in separate clips at the begin of those clips.

It's called 'chase events'. Ableton Live didn't use to do it at all in early editions and it was really annoying. However, you can turn off chase notes in the options menu, but I don't know whether this switches off chase CC events too.Zaphodb42a wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2024 2:56 pmOtherwise when playing from the start of a clip it does a sort of 'pre-fetch' and plays the CC also at the start of the clip.
