Is there a way to save Kits?

Post by fugubot » Mon Nov 04, 2024 10:26 pm

I know that we can save a set with our samples
but
is there a way to save the kit separately from the set so we can use the same kit in new projects?

We can change kits in a drum rack but how do we save the kit that we've loaded with other samples?

I've read the manual but I can't find this info.

Look for "Saving Presets" in the manual - https://www.ableton.com/en/move/manual/#saving-presets

I'm pretty sure it works with drum racks too, it's not the most obvious menu to get to but I guess it's something do don't do so often.
To do so, first select the preset you want to save in the Device View using the wheel. Next, press the wheel to enter the browser, then hold Shift to access the Options submenu. Press the wheel to open the submenu, select the Save Preset entry using the wheel, and press again to confirm.

Thanks for the help. I didn’t connect the idea of presets with the drum rack.
