Hello everybody,
I am writing to you, hoping that somebody will help me to solve a little problem I have.
I have upgraded my laptop to the new MacBook Pro M4 pro and I still want to use me beloved Push 2.
However, I cannot really do that as the cable provided is an old USB 2 cable. I have tried a couple of cables (USB 2.0 to USB 3) I purchased online, but none of them work. They either won't fit into the Push's body or they would not transfer the data between Push and the computer.
I power my Push through the original power supply.
It is a mystery to me, that Ableton do not produce a cable like this.
It's been weeks of trying and spending money without any success.
Does anybody can help and provide me with a link? Preferably UK based shops?
I am sending good vibes and may your music and music production shine.
Love & Peace,
weremia
PUSH 2 USELESS WITH OLD CABLE
Re: PUSH 2 USELESS WITH OLD CABLE
The new MacBook needs a USB-C cable going to USB, like this

A small adapter should work too, the Push 2 only needs USB 2 speed.

Re: PUSH 2 USELESS WITH OLD CABLE
Hello again,
I have bought a new cable and I can use Push 2. However, if I move quickly through the pads while playing drums or synths, it feels like Push is suffocating, being unable to play fast enough. Is it the cable that is not transferring enough of data or some other issue?
Thank you for reading and all the best with your music,
Regards,
weremia

Re: PUSH 2 USELESS WITH OLD CABLE
Unfortunately not all cables are made equal, especially USB ones.
I'd rather keep using the stock Ableton cable with a USB-A to USB-C dongle/adaptor.
It's been working without issue here (with a m1 machine)

Re: PUSH 2 USELESS WITH OLD CABLE
When I bought my Push 2 second hand, I tried loads of cables and out of all the ones I had around, only one out of maybe 5 or 6 worked.
I think Push 2 is very picky on USB leads!
