Polyphonic Aftertouch presets on Ableton Move

Post by mrweasel » Sun Jan 12, 2025 6:17 pm

What’s the story with Poly AT presets?
The pads have polyAT capability and the device can receive poly Aftertouch info (great with CME XKey or Kontrol S MK3) but I don’t really see many presets that make use of poly AT on the move device itself.

What is your experience? Has Ableton said they would come up with poly AT presets?
To do that yourself, do you have to mess around in Ableton live and transfer presets?
It seems like a missed opportunity from Ableton, like building a motorway but only sticking slow vehicles in it…

Yes, there's several PolyAT presets in the current Move library.
There's also a (still quite experimental) feature that allows you to design and export presets, see this article

Yes I saw that and it’s a great article.
I just wish more use of polyAT was made given that they are selling and promoting that feature so it still feels like a stray shot at this stage

My fist impression was aftertouch is borken on my device.
But after making my own presets, I know it is working. :D
