One project suddenly developed a latency issue of perhaps 1/4 second. As this disappeared when latency compensation is turned off, I traced it to a track with plugdata which when removed got rid of the latency.
The question is why this track, unchanged in weeks, would suddenly increase latency? The day before its latency had been nil and nothing changed on the track. Further, I tried going to a a backup of the project, from a week before, when there was no noticeable latency but the problem track was already there. In the backup, the pugin track now creates the same high latency it definitely didn't earlier! How is this possible? Even internal plugin settings should have reverted.
To be clear, I solved the immediate problem; I'm trying to understand what caused it? thx
