grump tools m4l mixing thingy's

Post by edisonSF » Thu Jan 23, 2025 10:06 pm

howdy!
my name is nic.
sadly, and stupidly i've haven't used the ableton forums since 2009.
guess i'm not much of a forum person... or i'm an ableton loner?
i used to perform under "edison" using a monome lunchbox.
these days i'm making beats under "king grump".

i've been working on some new m4l tools for quick mixing and rapid sound shaping.
there are so many incredible m4l things out there,
but i've been wanting to make something that i would personally use on every track of my mixes.
simple, dumb interfaces for dialing up sounds instantly...
i've got 5 m4l devices done..
they all use the new max 9 ableton dsp things.
after lots of testing and experimenting, they are sounding really awesome,
and i'm stoked on how tight max and ableton are growing.

devices are:
soupcan - a low bit drum processor.
bone doctor - a handy 3 band EQ and drive processor.
toothpaste - a studio compressor with 3 band eqs in and out of the dynamics.
juicebox - a distortion using bits, saturation and drive... with 3 band eqs in and out of the distortion.
muffins - a dead simple mastering chain.

check them out here:

thank you!
nic

Providing a link (you cannot upload files here) to your devices should be fine. Many users do this.

@edisonSF I remember that the V Festival in Chelmsford showed your Monome LunchBox performance on screens by the side of stage in-between bands, probably four or five stories high....

Just brought back a nice memory if nothing else....

Cheers
