CV Tools-CV Inst. pitch voltage offset

Post by dave baker » Mon Sep 23, 2019 7:38 pm

With the CV Instrument, I am making device presets with the CV pitch calibrated for different hardware. In my case I use an Expert Sleepers es-3 for CV output, but if I run out of outputs on it, I can use a channel of my MOTU interface. The voltages are obviously very different between those two, so I make hot-swappable presets for the CV Inst. device with CV pitch calibrations for whatever hardware I'm using for CV output. So with those presets, I can change my mind about what hardware I'm using for CV output and the voltage will track across the pitch range correctly, but if the CV Instrument device also had a voltage offset that I could dial in, I could switch back and forth between those different calibrated presets and not have to re-tune the oscillators when I did so, which would be super-slick and professional and time-saving.

This is the sort of feature that would definitely enhance the feeling of seamlessness in the Live/modular workflow that CV tools makes possible. Heavy modular users would appreciate it.

It would have to be an offset control that had fine enough resolution to be good enough for tuning, it should be mentioned.

Second this,

Offset would be great, even just for slight detuning when using two CV instruments with 2 separate Oscillators

This would be *SO* useful. I've got a bunch of different gear with different reference points for how many volts Middle C is. The calibration algorithm just about works with Mutable's Tides, but has no chance with a Minibrute 2S that expects 4V for Middle C.

2025. trying to use es3 with a pro one and a few unipolar eurorack modules. would love to get this sorted.

Wouldn’t it be possible to use CV Utility to workaround this?
