Alpha Juno midi problems

Post by DropoutBoogie » Thu Dec 05, 2019 6:18 pm

I'm trying to use my Alpha Juno 2 as my main midi keyboard for Ableton. However I'm running into problems with the juno sending "all notes off" midi messages. This means that any VSTs or intsruments I'm controlling have no release envelope, and there is also a nasty clicking sound when I release the keys.

I've tried using various Max4Live devices to filter out the "all notes off" message but I can't seem to get it to work. Does anyone know of a workaround for this as I think it's a fairly common quirk of older synths? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I know this is an old post (came across it because I just found out my Alpha Juno is doing this) but you can use a Retrokits RK002 MIDI cable on the output of the alpha juno and specifically filter out this CC

Ah, running into the same problem. Any cheaper option available? The Retrokits cable looks to be at least $50.
