Hey all,
I've been trying to figure this out, but haven't had any luck so far. My Push 3 works great using MPE with Ableton Instruments, but I can't manage to get it working with anything third-party. So far, I've tried it with a few Arturia plugins and a Cherry Audio synth.
I enable MPE in the synths, map the parameters, but nothing changes. I can't even get Poly Pressure to work the CS-80V (only Mono Pressure).
Has anyone gotten this to work?
Using MPE with non-Ableton synths
Re: Using MPE with non-Ableton synths
Hi, you should try « Group » and add the « Expression » device to map what you want to control with MPE.

Re: Using MPE with non-Ableton synths
I hope I'm in the right thread, have been doing a lot of hunting. Bear with me. Using Push 3 and Live 12.
I think I'm a tap away from what I want: to be able to specify an instrument/effect variable that will be modified by an expression (e.g. slide, i.e. up/down on a pad).
On Live 12, the Expression Control device has both source (expression dimension) and TARGET (any variable). Once I do that on desktop, I can transfer the project to Push 3 and that mapping is in effect.
But I can't accomplish this on Push alone - the Expression Control device has all of the settings EXCEPT target. I've tried grouping this device with an instrument, as suggested in many places, but I can't figure out how to make that connection between a variable and an expression. It is very similar to a macro. But apparently just different enough that I'm stuck. Going in the other direction, I can only map an instrument variable to the standard macros, not to an expression source.
Running out of ideas. I don't see why this wouldn't be possible to do solely on the Push. I've really come to understand the logic of the Push controls. Am I missing something (simple)? Is this not how to accomplish this? It's tantalizingly close.
