Whats the point?
Ableton gives you this powerful modular system… then draws a dotted line around the juiciest UI real estate and says, “nope, reserved.” Meanwhile their native devices get lush, animated visualizers and waveforms in that area and we’re left stuffing faders into a shoebox.

Re: Whats the point?
- For your device backend, I guess you are aware that, when you click on "Patching Mode" in the bottom of the Max window, you get the editing window which practically is as large as you want.
- The "normal" device UI is limited on the height as far as I know. But I might be wrong. But for sure you can extend it to the right quite a bit.
- There is e.g. the bpatcher object which allows you to open a new window where you can have a larger UI
