why do we have scroll_view?

Hi,

Why do Live have the capability to scroll through files (clip packs etc.) in the Ableton Live's browser (see https://docs.cycling74.com/apiref/lom/application_view/) when one can't seem to use the selection for anything?

I can get scroll_view to work i.e. select a file (in my case a clip pack) and I can navigate the file structure (go in and out of folders) but I would like to
bring the clip pack into Ableton session view.

Do Live have a method/function for this?

If not, why do Live have e.g. focus_view (e.g. select Live's Browser) and scroll_view to navigate files in the browser?

What am I missing/ not understanding?
