assigning effects parameters
assigning effects parameters
Hi guys,
Is there a way to assign different effects parameters to different knobs of a MIDI controller? I mean one control the delay feedback the other dry/wet signal etc. etc.
I have a doepfer pocket control (16 knobs) but i'm not able to do it.
Anyway i can assign every sample to a different key of my keyboard.
Any help.
cheers.

yep. load a plug-in on to a track and click the little green arrow at the top of the plug-in. this will unfold a bunch of sliders next to the plug-in window. just hit command-m, click on the parameter you'd like to assign and wiggle the knob that you want it to be assigned to.
note: some plug-ins have no little green arrow, and as far a s i can tell, there's nothing you can do about that.

hi dirtystudios,
thanks a lot for your reply, i'll give it a try.
Another question is:
Is there an ASIO folder in Live? I have purchased the complete version today and i used demo version for a couple of weeks but i couldn't find any ASIO folder in Ableton directory.
I'm running Live 2 on macos 9.
cheers.

Lives ASIO folder sits inside the Resources folder (inside the Live 2 folder) under OS9. Just copy your drivers there and all should be well.

Hi dub
If I understand correctly, you can only see "Sound Manager Default Device" in the Device field.
Can you select ASIO in the "Device Type" field above it?
Once "Device Type" switches to ASIO ( it may take a few seconds ) does your quattro appear in "Device"??
make sure Live the only audio app running when you change audio preferences.

hi Pitch,
thanx again.
I'll give it a try and i'll let you know. I have an ASIO folder with its file placed in inside logic audio folder.
Should i move it to Abletons ASIO folder?
I mean i have to place ASIO drivers in the right folder everytime i run Live or Logic? I don't think i can create an alias of this file.
cheers.

AH dub I see the problem!
What you have to do is *duplicate* the ASIO drivers that are sitting in the Logic Audio ASIO folder into the LIVE ASIO folder.
Do this by option-dragging them from one folder to another.
With ASIO, you have to have a set of drivers in each applications ASIO folder. You only need to copy them once into each folder then each app should access your quattro.
