newbie question - can I play >1 clip per track simultaneo

want to overlap several clips simultaneously without creating individual tracks for each. Ie, want to record a organ, then piano, then strings all in the same track from my keyboard, and then play them simultaneously. Is live capable of this?

No. 1 clip per track at a time, but setting them horizontally in new tracks in the same scene and triggering the scene will do what you described. take a look at the manual and you'll learn all about the advantages of this set-up.
