Imac g5 external soundcard.
Imac g5 external soundcard.
I'm just wondering what is the best soundcard with adat for a imac G5.
I already own a RME Multiface for my PCs but it's no use for the Imac. So I'm looking for the best deal (quality vs price) ?
Any clue?

I just thought i would point out one thing i heard to aid in your search. Because alot of people dont use iMac's (although sometimes i wish i had the money for one)....
I had heard that firewire devices plugged into iMac and Mac Mini's, when they are immediatly plugged in, get immediate power. And constant power, even if the computer is turned off. Now, i heard this so long ago and i didnt pay alot of attention, so please someone feel free to correct the specifics, but it is something along those lines. So obviously hot-plugging worries come into play, etc.

I can't say enough good things about my Metric Halo MIO 2882. Great sound, great support from MH Labs, optionally buss powered. (Only wish it had a power button.)

15" TiBook 1.5 GHz 1Gig RAM, MOTU Traveller, Live 5, Reaktor 5, Alesis Micron, Yamaha EX-5, UC-33e, BCR2000, Lexicon MPX-1, Orbit, Event 20/20's
the 828 mk2 and the traveler are as solid as they come. the drivers are great, and the latency is low. I've used Motu interfaces for years now, and rarely is there a problem with them.euterke wrote:I'm wondering if the Motu 828 mkII sounds good?
Any experience with it ?
Latency ? CPU ?
