Beatcreator v. LiveSlice
Beatcreator v. LiveSlice
Any recommendations here? Which is the best beatslicer? Thanks...
phatmatik is compact, quick, and you can do some seriously cool stuff, like grabbing the midi file for a beat and dragging into live, just like that thing in dr.Rex in Reason, that sends the sequence to the sequencer... awesome. It has 4 outs as well. And I just love the way it dynamically assigns hits to your midi notes... delete it, and the next one comes in.... And it has pendulum playback, which I sorely miss in most software samplers

Just downloaded the demo and need to read the manuel or something but Phatmatik looks hot. If I get it figured out it is going on the Xmas list for sure. Thanks Machinate!
Ableton’s engineers are hard
at work developing code that will allow our software to predict the future, but we don’t
anticipate having this available until at least the next major release.

load up a sample that has 8 hits. When they're sliced they'll be assigned c2, c#2.... g2. Now, let's say you want the c#2 hit to be together with the c2 key, you delete the c#2 by alt-clicking the line that marks the start of the hit. Now the next hit becomes c#2 instead. Brilliant. And it works the other way too, insert more chops, and all the subsequent assignments change accordingly.

I just bought phatmatik pro, it's my absolutely most favorite tool in ableton 5 now. using that and operator on everything! and I've got a shite load of plugs but those 2 just seem to show up everywhere. it's brilliant and simple and very low on cpu.
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.
eyeknow - I checked out the beatcreator demo and it seems tight. I like it better than phatmatik because phatmatik's interface is tiny and hard to see! I'd like to read more about beatcreator but there seems to be very little support from zero-x. If you buy BC, do you get a downloadable manual or anything? Thanks...
