if your using Windows, check out Bome Midi Translator. If you're on a mac, try my program midiStroke:

if you see a "play" "up" "down" and a box with a 1 in it. Try assingning a cc to the play button.

Re: Any way to MIDI control the Enter key?('play selected clip')
Hi!
It´s a while but I just searched for a solution also... and now found it for my problem:
I wanted to launch scenes one after the other, which Ableton does if "Select next scene when launched" (sorry, this is my translation, because in my Ableton it´s german...) and you just keep on pressing ENTER. I use this to run music & sound for theater just like the light-guys do with their "GO" button.
Now, with touchOSC Software I have this gigant GO-button on my smartphone and it´s sending a midi-note to Ableton and I want it to function like the ENTER-Key.

If you assign "play" AND "down" to the same midi-note it works!
Simple- hope it helps someone!
Greetings.
