How to drop in a wav file 1/2 way through a measure

Post by Joey_In_LA » Tue Nov 29, 2005 10:20 pm

I have Live (the version that came with my M-Audio USB Audio), and I love working with it. I have BetaMonkey Drum Tracks - and there are some wonderful loops - and fills.

I want to drop in a fill which is only 2 beats of a 4/4 measure - but when I drop/drag it into a track, it automatically puts it at the 1 of the 4/4 measure. How can I place it so that it plays on the 3 (and 4) of the 4/4 measure?

Cheers,
Joey
If Steve Stevens can use a ray gun for notes... so can I...

Set the launch quantization of your drum fill clip to 1/2. You do this in the Launch section of the Clip View.

Currently, you must have it set to 1 bar, or to Global - with the Global quantise setting (top center of the screen) at 1 bar.

Try setting "drum fill" type clips to 16th quantisation too - this can be a very spontaneous way of writing new variations on existing breaks.
