BTW why US Enlgish, not just English??

Obviously, it is to avoid offending the British, who invented the language, so that they don't take issue (that's i-ss-yew) when they see the odd jargon and missing 'u's.

Anyway, I dont care about that!!

those 2 thirds are still speaking English! it's not like contonese and mandarin or dutch and flemish, they are exactly the same language with a few different spellings which are practically pronounced the same just with different accents!!!!!!

I'm sorry, I dont carer if the American, or Australian identity or whatever needs it to feel important, I dont see why I should be told be the ABleton installer that I'm loading the US enlgish version of live. As far as I'm concerned it's the ENglish version.

909.978 per 1,000 people in England speak English, so 1 in ten can't speak English?
A stat like that makes sense in Ireland or NZ where ther are indigenous languages .. but it seems odd even from my fortress in the heart of urban britain that 1 in ten cant speak the language!

it depends on what they consider 'being able to speak the language'

i have a job dealing with complaints from costumers at a big telecom company. you'd be surprised at how many people with indiginous names can't really speak/write the language
