What is the exact message you are getting?

where did you buy your copy? Was it new or did you buy it from a friend or off ebay or something similar? If the latter is the case you may have been had.

have you registered and unlocked your software?

You should contact ableton support, they will straighten you out.

I'm having the same problem. One day, things work fine. The next day, I can't open the projects I was working on anymore. As Live opens, i get that same dialog box saying "copyright protection violation", and presto!---- I'm instantly at ableton.com. I have e-mailed them, and got a preliminary response asking for more info. Still waiting to hear back, and was hoping someone here had found the solution.....I also dare to dream that someone can tell me what may have caused it in the first place.

my best advice would be find a rock, thats just light enough to hold with one hand, and then repeatedly slam the rock into your face.

If live isnt working after that, there's really no one who can help you.
