(VJING)Live crash when going back from some fullscreen apps.

Post by zappen » Mon Sep 05, 2005 5:01 pm

How to reproduce this:
1: Start Live
2: Start an application that runs in fullscreen
3: quit the application that runs in fullscreen or simply exit from fullscreen
Live crashes only when going back from fullscreen.

I tried Winamp's AVS and visualjockey, and both crashed live

Pinball 3d for istance didn't crashed it but i think it's because it doesn't use a real fullscreen call.

A couple live users that tested on their machines did experienced the crash too.

Anyone else noticed this?

cheers,
Zappen

Hi zappen,

this seems happens with several application when they run in full screen mode on Windows. (For instance it happens with Windows Media player version 9.x but not with 10.x) The crash itself is deep in the framework code of DirectX so we cannot say when and how we will be able to solve this problem.

regards,
Alex

still present in 5.0.3, i hope this will be sorted out first or later.

and reading the forums i saw some users that were reporting live disappearing after an hour of idling or so, may it's because the screensaver starts in fullscreen, and Live crashes when the screensaver backs from fullscreen.

the same when taking some break and playing icy tower :/ but good to know it's a recognized feature (it's a feature, not a bug 8) )

best regards,
