biggest downside to the new Ipods is there is no I talk device for it, so you cant record your shows with it yet.

and the lack of firewire.

Love my mini. :D
Ableton’s engineers are hard
at work developing code that will allow our software to predict the future, but we don’t
anticipate having this available until at least the next major release.

damn that sony looks cool, the way the screen is blended in with everything is pretty innovative.

got a question about itunes though. i've heard some reports of people getting their mp3 collection erased when connecting an ipod, i don't know the paticulars but i have a huge collection and don't want anything to happen to it.

and for you users , there isn't any thing like once my music is loaded up into the ipod or itunes that it gets stuck there right??.... i mean like its not going to convert my mp3 collection and then make it so that i can't play them in any other application ....? thats what i'm really worried about

It's quite possible this is referring to the issue of auto-updating your iPod. If your iTunes prefs are set to auto-update your iPod then the following scenario is possible:

1. you plug in your iPod, your tunes get dumped to said iPod, you unplug you iPod
2. you delete tunes from your computer hd, add others etc
3. you plug in your iPod and the new library of songs on your computer completely replaces what was on your iPod

Moral: don't use auto-update in iTunes, set it to manual.

No. But there are many additional little utilities that'll do neat things for you. Not sure what OS you're running, but here's a Versiontracker list of iPod software for OSX, assume many of them are also available for WIN:

I wanted one of those to use as an mp3 player and to use it at the same time as an external HD. As far as I learned, you can't see the music collection when you're using it as an external disk, they are separated.

That ended my iPod mini-affair.

And video? I wouldn't imagine myself watching videos on that. I don't even want to watch TV for that matter.
Turn up the radio. Turn up the tape machine. Look into the sunset up ahead. Roll the windows down for a better taste of the cool desert wind. Ah yes. This is what it's all about. Total control now.

well watching tv on my ipod is not that intresting for me, but the reason i chose to upgrade to the video feature pod was because i want to put video tutorials for Live 5, FL6, and other apps on my ipod, for this it should be indespensible.
