I am using 5.01 and my AMD Turion laptop...grand! Whenever i load a mp3 into Ableton and it processes the file it incorrectly reads the length of the track. It often adds on minutes or even doubles the track length...the actual track doesnt run for this length of time. The track will play fine but it makes it impossible to mix music as you have to know the track intimately instead of just watching the play time.
Any ideas?
My Problem or Ableton's?
for most people the auto warp function is not accurate enough to be relied on to prepare your tracks for mixing. at best it can put you in the ballpark of where you need to be; at worse it gives results like the ones you seem to be getting
you need to learn how to 'warp' your tracks manually in order to mix them. its a skill that needs to be developed with practice. search in the tips and tricks forum

Look at the preferences, then click off, auto warp.

Hi DKillian,
AutoWarp should not lead to different results as long as the decoded MP3 file is the same. So maybe the decoding makes the difference.
Currently Live is using Quicktime (if installed) or DirectShow (a built in of Win XP) to decode MP3.
Do you have installed QuickTime on your Desktop machine?
regards,
/Alex
