Greyed out menus

the subject says it all. Yeesterday, all the menus were greyed out and I couldn't neither use the keyboard shortcuts. Then, all suddenly returned to normal state. It seems I went to the live menu or clicked the apple menu just before everything came back.

Known bug. Opening and closing preferences will clear it.

I did a search with 'greyed out menu' but found nothing.
