You sir, are an angry little man... and you carry a gun. 8O

I want to hear your point, so make it brief, but I do want to get your angle on it. Neither of us are going to change our minds, so get over it.

How do civilians interact with each other with their guns?

'Immature half-man' is not what your mum was calling me last night.

Like I've stated before, I'm not a socialist. I don't want Big Brother. I don't want guns either. I don't see how those two things are at odds with one another.

What I do see is a tedious little wind-up merchant with his head up his arse.

Wow, here's where we part politics brother.... 8O
The arguement for private gun ownership a la "you expect the cops to protect you" is so f'ed I wouldn't no where to begin. Needless to say that:

a) I don't own a gun
b) I feel protected by the cops
c) In 27 odd years, I've NEVER had a need for a gun

I'd imagine that it's ideas like these that drive moderates to the radical Left.

I'm from the American midwest. I love my country quite a bit. But the sort of gun-love obstinacy on display here has always struck me as more fear-based than anything else. I just wouldn't want to live my life that way--always on alert to whip out the firearm in case "something goes down." Knock on wood, I've done a pretty good job of protecting my family so far. There are other ways to do it than by toting a pistol. Guns are a huge problem in this country; you'd have to be blind not to recognize that. And the problem isn't that too few people have them.

"I have the solution to the drug problem of America. Not less drugs, more drugs. More drugs - and give them to the right fucking people..."

-Denis Leary

(I think this goes for guns as well in some round about way...)

- Free shooting lessons for gang members.
- Make bullets very very expensive (Chris Rock's joke)

I just can't see how adding guns to ANY situation makes it better.

The fear that American's have is REALLY scary.

I'd love to hear FFE's views, there's no point in arguing, I find it more interesting to discuss these things with people I disagree with.

Why don't some of you guys from the EU and the US come down here and kick it in the 3rd World... where kiddnappings & home invasions are commonplace... and tell me that only the police should carry guns...

That being said... the US is a very safe place and one should have to carry a gun there (IMO)...

So lets just get this clear...you have a complete lack of faith in your govt and or cops to protect you at home but......you have complete faith in the same govt's ability to travel to the other side of the planet, invade Iraq and protect Iraq's people.

FFE it appears as though you have finally shot yourself in the foot....... I guess that is just one of the dangers of having your own shooter.

Surely there is a typo there....you mean "one should not have to carry a gun"........your not really saying that carrying a gun should be mandatory are you CS ??

You're correct... Pardon the typo.

No one in the US needs to own a gun... nor do I think they should. I live in a much more dangerous area then the US... and I don't own a gun (but I have an armed guard outside my condo 24 hours a day)

I must be an "immature half man"
