Cannot hear any sounds coming from M-Audio Trigger Finger

Post by DeeJay Ceas » Sat Feb 18, 2006 6:17 pm

Heelo peeps, I just purchased Live 5 with the M-Audio Trigger Finger. Can someone be able to help out with the basic setup. I cannot hear anything on my headphones when I touch the pads on the TG. I can see that Live 5 is receiving the signal cause the meters go up and down on the screen, but there is no sound. Im somewhat of a begginer on DAW systems. Can someone help me out please. Thank You.

Have you read chapter 15 of the Live manual?

Press Memory Recall, then Pad 10. then you'll be set.

Welll...you also need to insert some sort if sound generating plug in on that midi track. The trigger finger doesn't send audio, it sends midi which is only control information. You need a software instrument that responds to the midi, like Live's Impulse.

(Sorry if you already knew that...)

Did you plug the audio cables in all the way?
The 1/4 inch jacks on the Triggerfinger are weird sometimes. With mine, It clicks once, then twice. But I sometimes forget to give them that extra push to set the pins in the groove on the plug.

those are not audio cables on the back the 1/4" jacks are for foot pedals!! as said above the trigger finger does not make any sound and it ONLY A CONTROLLER for CONTROLLING programs like live
Macbook 2.16 C2D - Ozonic - BCF 2000 - Allen & Heath xone 32 - Technics 1210's mk3 - and a badger

Because it doesn't make any.

WTF?? Audio cables? I presume you are on a windup to try and confuse the OP.

Thanks alot peeps, i see that are other guys on here that are newbies to setting up the TG. i know the TG is just a MIDI cont. I guess what I meant is that how do I setup my TG to play the sounds on Live? Im a newbie to the DAW systems and controlling it with a MIDI cont. Im use to making beats on my E-MU workstation and it being directly connected to my mixer. Any more help will be appreciated. THANKS.

Some very confusing talk here
Turn up the radio. Turn up the tape machine. Look into the sunset up ahead. Roll the windows down for a better taste of the cool desert wind. Ah yes. This is what it's all about. Total control now.
