Thats funny, i get the spdif channels flashing on the display ? Even though I have them turned off in motu audio set-up, am talking with tech support about it at the moment, also getting pops and cracks through my monitors on startup and shutdown ?

I'm thinking as long as it keeps sounding good I'm not too bothered bout the little things, unless they really become a problem. it's bassically got way more features than I'll ever use but it still the best option available for me as a low cost, low latency good quality soundcard so...yeah as long as it keeps sounding good...

Do you mean it makes a little pop when powering on and off? Mine does too, I thought it was normal. Did you ask tech support about it?

EDIT:Actually just a pop when powering down...

yes, a bit loud actually, I think it's a crack when powering up and a pop when powering down from memory, just a bit of a bugger coz it means to avoid it i have to turn my monitors on and off after and before. That was one good thing about the firebox, it didn't do that but still if I had to choose between the two I wouldn't think twice about it obviously but am wondering why doesn't motu use apples built in core audio driver like presonus and edirol ? I guess there must be a reason ?

Yep...definitely a bit off noise when powering down.

I think I'm glad they design their own drivers because they update them and they must address any inherent issues, whereas apple is not going to give any one device that kind of attention.
