Am I out of the loop or what? Exporting Question
Am I out of the loop or what? Exporting Question
So, I have my clips ready to go. Is there anyway to play through the clips without clicking each one? I mean, i have an intro on one line, a verse on another, a chorus on the third and an outro on the fourth...sounds great when i play them in order, but I dont wanna have to click (in time) everytime! I want to mix them down to a track and play it as one. When I try bringing it into another program like audition, the files arent looped and dont sound as good...
...what do I need to do? any ideas? is this just not the program to use?
thanks!!!
BTW, sorry if this is a common Q.

I am not sure if i have understant your question but,try to use the follow actions. If you click your loop then at the botom you can see the wave, and also, clip-launch-sample-envelopes.You need to use the launch there you set the follow actions. Also have a look at manual how to use the follow actions.
Hope it helps.

SO, the launcher will allow me to turn these "clips" into an actual song by hitting play one time?
to clarify my example: I have everything set up. 4 lines of clips. I hit Master 1 and the first set plays through. I want it to play twice, so as its finishing its second loop, I hit Master 2. I want that to go 4 times. on the fourth, I hit Master 3 and so on...to create a "song".
I don't want to sit at the keyboard and hit Master 1, Master 2, etc. in order to turn these clips into a song. I can use the launcher function to program them to play in order, a set # of times?
THEN, can I "record" that "song" and make it 1 single file that I could play anywhere?
This may be a retarded post...I HAD been using adobe audition, but bought the toneport ux2 and kinda like this clip thing...but if I cant make a true song out of it, I'll find something new I guess...
SO, If what I want CAN BE DONE, then tell me to read the manual. If NOT, please, tell me which program you suggest. (I've been looking at Cakewalk, and I dont want to dive into a program manual that I wont be using much).
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP/ADVICE.
**edit** even in arranger view, it looks like you can only access a Master set at a time...from that view, i wanna line up master 1, 2, 3, 4 and tell 2 to play 2x and 3 to play 4x, but play all the way through...i hope that makes sense now...

YO MAN... HIT RECORD
play your scenes as you want and then go into arrange and tidy it up.
render from there.

hit record where?
do i need to change an input option? coz whenever I arm a track, it only records what I have plugged into my UX2, it wont record another scene...
and thats what I want! To record a scene I have already created so that I can arrange a few scenes back to back (perhaps in the arrangment view?)...

OK,
As you have correctly noticed, one way of having things "play the way you want" is to:
1: launch clips in session view. They can can play once, but can also be set to loop, so that after you fire them, they will play forever, until they are stopped again.
Another way is to
2: Build an arrangement on the arrangement page. (Have a look at the demo lessons) this plays from left to right.
There are 2 ways of building an arrangement:
A: Putting clips into the arrangement from the session view (drag them on the ||| button that changes views), or from the file browser, or by Copy/Paste and moving them in the right place.
and
B: Simply fire clips in the session view like you've been doing, while record (transport bar) is enabled. Now when you stop and press TAB you will see an arrangement that has been built according to when and where you started clips.
The goal is to get an arrangement that plays exactly the way you wan it to, when you have that you can then do RENDER.
This will play (the selected part of) the arrangement and write it to disk as an audio file. This you can burn to a CD for playing on any CD player.
Start with the built in lessons, then read the manual from page 1 to the last page. If you don't understand something, just keep reading, you will probably need to read it several times anyway (I did).
Hope that helps & have fun!
