Guys,
Please show me again . I want to use my Midi controller as a pitch slider just like the turntable 1200...
I wanna use it to pitch individual channel to match beat.....
Can I warp two songs and play it in sync??? Please show me how guys...
I have done my search and spent countless hours .. but just can't figure it out...
Thanks,
DjThis
How do I assign a slider to be like the turntable pitch ?
Hi,
If you plan to mix only with Live, the way to go is to prepare and warp your tracks the best you can, then they'll beatmatch perfectly with no tweaking needed when you perform, thus allowing you to concentrate on the selection, and on doing some "instant remix", if you add tracks with extra stuff like drums, samples etc....
There is still a nudge function, found in the clip details area, bottom left, that can be used either like the push-pull of a finger, like on a turntable, or to jump by an amount of X bars. It is dependant on the global quantize of Live. So if you set the global quantize to none, you'll be able to use the nudge as a finger push-pull, and you then have to set the launching quantization of each track (found again in the clip details view) to 1 bar or whatever is convenient for you, for the tracks to start in sync with each other.
a good tutorial on warping:

There are others, you'll find them in the tips and tricks forum.
Hope that helps,

actually, using your slider as a pitch control is very nifty if you want to play ableton along with turntables. adam jay used to do this, and it worked marvelously, and since he started out on the decks, it made a lot of sense.
me personally, i could live without "nudge" buttons...gimme a pitch slider anyday...
